Well, Hunter, we are fans, we dedicate most of our time to you, AFI. So we pay money to see you live, pay money for your records, so you can live off of music.

It's pretty low that you (AFI) announce an EP, even give a tracklist, and then just forget about it. If it's not 100% a fact it's gonna be out, then don't announce it at all.

Hey, anon, it's called a joke. No malicious intent. I was just as excited as anybody for the EP. However the band has decided to hold off on that until after the new album is released, and I'm okay with that.
Personally I'd rather hear an all-new album with all-new songs than an EP where we've heard 40% of the tracks already (Ether and Carcinogen Crush).
And you said we most likely won't get them? Jade actually said on his blog that he really wants these songs to see the light of day AFTER the new album comes out. So I think we'll see the EP eventually.
Don't be a dick, Anonymous. You don't know anything about what happened behind the scenes of trying to release our EP. If we had it our way, the EP would have been released 12-06. The label owns the recordings and didn't want to release it. Then they did. Then they didn't. By the time they did again, we decided that it was more important to focus all of our attention and money on a new record that represents where we are right now. If you are patient, we will surely do something with these old songs when we are unable to record new music (once we begin touring) but for now, you'll have to wait.
Oh and by the way, we (AFI), have dedicated our entire lives to creating music for you. We are very grateful to all the fans and friends that have supported us and our music over the years. Notwithstanding, we don't owe you anything. We certainly don't deserve your petty criticism. Anonymous criticism on the internet (especially about a topic you truly know nothing about) is cowardly, rude and just plain juvenile.

It's so hard to remember a lot of the time that you guys are real people, not just a band whose sole purpose is to make music. But I think the amount of fan interaction that happens (especially recently) really serves to remind us of that, and it only makes the wait more worth it.
Hunter, you don't need to apologize to us. You guys do so much for your fans. We should be thanking you a thousand times every day for the music you make and the attention you don't need to give us yet do. I wish we could do more to show you how thankful we are for what AFI does. Its very unfortunate that some people are so selfish and don't see how much you guys have sacrificed for your music and for your fans. It goes without saying how much we fans appreciate AFI. I'm so very grateful to you and the rest of AFI for your music and everything you have done to your fans. I've never in my life seen a band that is so dedicated to their fans as you are. You and Jade blogging and being on Twitter, answering to people's questions and sharing your thoughts..even though you'd surely have much more important things to do. That is just amazing. You guys are so big-hearted, I don't even have the words to tell(plus not enough vocabulary because I'm not a native English speaker). I don't mind at all waiting for the new material..it comes out eventually and I'm fine with it. Listening to your older stuff in the meantime is just as satisfactory to me. And I love reading about also non-music related stuff; your blog/twitter postings give me inspiration, new ideas and above all make me laugh really hard! Thank You Hunter for everything. I hope that anynymous person didn't ruin your day and if did, I hope your supportive fans made it a bit better! Have a good Sunday :)
